Gail A. Askew, age 77, formerly of Sheffield, died Tuesday, February 12, 2013. The funeral service will be Friday, February 12, at 12:00 p.m., at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The family will receive friends for visitation on Friday, from 10:00 a.m. until service time. Brother Rodney Shewbart will be officiating. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Sheffield.
Mrs. Askew lived most of her life in Sheffield, and was a member of York Terrace Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Doyle Askew.
Survivors include son, Bret Askew (Kathy); daughter, Brenda G. Askew; grandchildren, Andrew H. Jeffreys, Corrie Aldinger (Patrick), and Anna Rucker (Nathan); great grandchildren, Lily, Evie, and Lucy Kate; brothers, Randy Farris (Cindy), Jim Farris Jr. (Rhona), and Doug Farris (Cathy); and sisters, Linda Maples (Blanton) and Cathy Farris.
Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
The family gratefully acknowledges the Cleveland Nursing Home for their love and excellent care offered to Mrs. Askew.
