Bryce D. Brubaker, 89, of Huntsville, AL passed away peacefully in the evening on Tuesday, April 19, 2022, after an extended battle with Dementia.

Bryce graduated from West Palm Beach H.S. and received his bachelor’s degree in Physics & Mathematics from Georgetown College. He entered Officer Candidate School in Rhode Island and continued his naval career during the Korean Conflict, with active service from 1953 to 1957. He achieved the officer rank of Lieutenant Jr. Grade and continued to travel the world and experience many countries & cultures. In 1955 he married his wife, Rosemary, and had two sons Mark and Alan.

Bryce was a US Navy veteran diver specializing in Explosive Ordinance and Chemical Munitions Disposal. He received an honorable discharge in 1957 and applied his Navy expertise into a long-tenured engineering career including stints with 1) Thykol (Huntsville, AL); 2) McDonald Douglas / General Dynamics (St.Louis, MO) and then returning in 1983 to Thykol (Huntsville, AL) where he retired.

For much of his life, Bryce loved to dabble in audio & visual. From photography & 8mm film to video VHS and cassette audio. He would go out of his way to DAILY record his favorite broadcaster, Paul Harvey. His passion for the audio-visual, eventually translated into a 50 year service to the audio & visual and day-to-day sound system operations at Kirkwood Baptist Church (KBC – St.Louis, MO) and more, recently, First Baptist Church / Huntsville (FBCH).

Bryce was preceded in death by his father, Dale; his mother, Colleen; and his wife of nearly 51 years, Rosemary (2006). He is survived by his two sons, Mark (husband, Bob Potter) and Alan (wife, Rebecca) and his sister, Joyce Rippee (husband, Bill).

A small family-centric memorial service will be held on June 18th, 2022 @ 11am at Maple Hill Cemetery.

Bryce & Rosemary were avid pair bowlers and enjoyed spending time with their close friends and family. They were very active Christians and loved serving in the Lord as shown by their active membership to FBCH & KBC for 65+ years.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to First Baptist Church Huntsville (600 Governors Dr SW, Huntsville, AL 35801) or via online at www.fbchsv.org/give. Designating Memorial funds to Brubaker Audio Visual.
