Joseph “Todd” Ridgeway, 49, of Arab passed away on Friday evening, July 17th, surrounded by his loved ones. Todd was born on December 9, 1976 to Mike and Debbie Ridgeway. Todd was a devoted husband, loving father, and hardworking man whose life was defined by honor, integrity, and unwavering dedication to life.
Todd proudly served in the US military for eight years and learned discipline and courage that
would continue to shape him the rest of his life. After his military service, he began a successful
career at Redstone Arsenal.
To all Todd will be remembered as a man of his word, honorable, dependable, and always
willing to put others before himself. His greatest source of strength was his faith in Jesus Christ.
Todd loved the Lord and his faith guided the way loved, worked, and cared for others. His
unwavering faith and the example he set will continue to inspire his children and encourage all
who were blessed to know him. Above all, Todd’s greatest pride was in the family he built with his wife. Through his hard work, guidance, and unconditional love, he not only provided a wonderful life for his family, he also set an example of strength, honor, and selflessness that will live on through them forever. While his life was too short, he gave his children lessons that will last them a lifetime. Though his presence will be deeply missed, the legacy he leaves behind lives in countless lives that were impacted by knowing him.
He is preceded in death by his daughter, Courtney Beth Ridgeway; grandparents: Kenneth Ridgeway, Maxine Ridgeway, Joseph Brooks, Betty Brooks; and great grandparents: L.D. and Arlene Wright.
He is survived by his loving wife, Amy Ridgeway; children: Payton “Alex” Ridgeway, Gracie
Ditto (Jared), and Owen Ridgeway; parents: Mike and Debbie Ridgeway; Brothers: Heath
Ridgeway(Chana), Adam Ridgeway(Kaleen); mother-in-law: Threase Tipton; nieces and
nephews; and aunts and uncles.
The family will receive friends and family on Monday, July 20th from 6:00pm until
8:00pm at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel. Funeral service on Tuesday, July 21st at 2:00pm at Arab
Heritage Memorial Chapel led by Pastor Andy Brown. Burial will follow at Brashiers Chapel
Cemetery.
