Ruth Elaine McAnally, lovingly known to many as Granny Mac, slipped into her Savior’s presence on January 13, 2022, at the age of 85, in Oxford, MS.

Elaine was born in Troy, AL on December 12, 1936. She was a caring and loving wife, mother and Granny, and a friend to many. She never met a stranger and knew how to make everyone feel at home around her table. She loved to cook and could sew beautifully, leaving behind heirloom pieces for her family. She had a green thumb and knew how to can and preserve produce. She retired from Allegro Motor Home Club in Red Bay, AL, after which she continued to stay busy with her hobbies and creativity and taking goodies to people everywhere.

Graveside services were held on Saturday, January 22 at Belmont City Cemetery.  Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, MS was in charge of arrangements.

Elaine is survived by her loving daughter Carolyn Roberts (Craig); her loving son Mark McAnally (Donna); beloved grandchildren Jeff Roberts (Monique), Stephen Roberts (Sarah), Lauren Moore (Harrison), Jake McAnally and Carlee McAnally; her pride and joy – great-grandchildren Levi Roberts, Judah Roberts, Joy Roberts, Daniel Roberts, and William Moore; brother Bob Hattaway.

Elaine was preceded in death by her husband Kello McAnally, her parents, Carl D. Hattaway and Emma Ruth Hattaway, her sister Eleanor Hattaway, and sister-in-law Glendora Hattaway.

Elaine will be buried at Belmont City Cemetery next to her husband. In lieu of flowers, please send any donations to Belmont United Methodist Church (P.O. Box 516 Belmont, MS 38827) or St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church (P.O. Box 6 Oxford, MS 38655).
