Ester Lucille Hodges Hand, age 84, of Greenbrier, passed away Sunday, December 5, 2021 at her home. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 10, 2021 at 2pm in the chapel of the Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield with Pastor Jim Clark officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Sharon Cemetery with Bobby Hand, Jr., Mark Hand, Jr., Nick Oplinger, John Pokorny, Les Hand, and Jason Warden serving as pallbearers. Mr. Michael Hand will be an Honorary Pallbearer.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, December 9, 2021 from 4-8pm and again on Friday from 12pm until the hour of service at 2pm.
Mrs. Hand was born March 25, 1937 in Sumner County, TN to the late James Franklin and Sadie Pauline England Hodges. She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist Faith.
In addition to her parents Mrs. Hand is preceded in death by her husband, J.C. Hand, her son, Jimmy Dean Hand and her grandson, Matthew Hand.
Mrs. Hand is survived by her sons, Kenneth Hand, Bobby Hand, Sr., and Mark (Julie) Hand, Sr., all of Coopertown; daughter, Lisa (Brad) Oplinger of Atlanta, GA; brothers, Gordon Hodges of Portland and Doug Hodges of Bethpage; sisters, Shirley, Janie and Patty; grandchildren, Mark Jr., Bobby Jr., Linda, Ashley, Michael, Heather and Nick; and great-grandchildren, Dalton, Radley, Anna, Skylar, Journey and Haliah.
Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield is in charge of these arrangements.
