Nita Marie Zimmerman, 65, passed away December 5th, 2021, at her home in Arab, AL.
Nita was born on November 29th, 1956 in Bad Kreuznach, Germany to Bertha and Marvin Moore, a non-commissioned officer in the U.S. Air Force.
Shortly after graduating high school, she met her husband Paul Zimmerman. The two cultivated a loving marriage of 47 years until her passing. From that lifelong relationship, she is survived by her four children Chris, Paul Jr., Heidi, and Peter. Their relationship served as a model for others and she is also survived by six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
She was an avid crafter, quilter, and all-around cook. She also had a passion for animals and provided a great home over the years for a variety of dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, and fish. She enjoyed traveling with Paul in and around Europe, particularly on Queen Mary cruises.
A memorial service is scheduled for 2:30pm on Friday, December 10th at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel.
