Funeral Services for Mr. George Edward Waldrop, age 93 of Lineville, will be Friday, October 22, 2021 at 3:00 P.M. at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville with Rev. Jeff Chandler officiating. Masks are required for visitation and service as requested by the family. Burial will follow in Clay County Memory Gardens.

Mr. Waldrop passed away on Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at his granddaughters home in Cumming, GA. A lifelong resident of Clay County, he proudly served in the US Army. He returned to Clay County where he married his wife, Myrtle Alice Brown, in 1951 and worked at Higgins Manufacturing for over 30 years.

He is survived by his son, Scott Waldrop (Sheri) of Jasper, TX; grandchildren, Crystal Waldrop (Kandace) of Cumming, GA, Katie Eddington (Evan) of Many, LA and Joshua Waldrop of Jasper, TX; great-grandchildren, Gracie Eddington, Axtyn Waldrop, and Addison and Grayson Henry; siblings, Faye Harris of Calhoun, GA, Jean Harris of LaGrange, GA, Brenda Tongel (Mike) of Canton, GA and James Waldrop of Atlanta, GA; Several nieces, nephews and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Willis and Willie Heard Waldrop; his wife Myrtle Alice Brown Waldrop; grandson, George Nicholas Waldrop and sister, Jewel Pool.

Visitation is Friday from 1:00 until 3:00. Masks will be required per family request.

Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville is in charge of the arrangements
