Billy Lee Shewbart, age 84, of Russellville, passed away on Thursday, July 01, 2021 at Terrace Manor Nursing & Rehab.

Billy had worked as a furnace operator at U.S. Reduction. He was a member of the Baptist church. He was a hardworking man and a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was a devoted Alabama fan. He loved all of his family but especially loved spending summers with his grandson, Cody, enjoying times of fishing, camping, and sleeping on the pontoon boat.

The visitation will 12:30 pm – 1:30 p.m. Saturday, July 03, 2021 at Spry Memorial Chapel. A graveside service will be at 2:00 p.m. at Tharptown Cemetery. Bro. Darren Woodruff will speak at the service.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rather and Ruby Shewbart; and sisters, Charlene Hacker and Willodean Petree.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 40 years, Sue Shewbart; children, Joel Shewbart, Tim Ellis, Mike Ellis, Jerry Ellis; grandchildren, Sheenia Busby, Heather Gray, Cody Ellis, Kee Ellis, Victoria Ellis, Elisha Ellis, Ginger Ellis; sister, Doris Berry; and numerous nieces & nephews.

The pallbearers will be Kirk Jones, Tony Jones, Rocky Hudson, Jonathon Jones, David Jones, and Richard Woodruff.

The family would like to extend a sincere thanks to the nurses and staff of Terrace Manor Nursing & Rehab for your loving care. Also a special thanks to friends, family, and members of Eastside Church of Christ for your love, prayers, visits, and gifts of food during this time.
