Johnny Belew

MUSCLE SHOALS – There was a big turn-out of music lovers at Champy’s Thursday evening. The event was to celebrate one of the music industry’s most beloved friends, Johnny Belew, who suffered a broken leg a few months ago and is still recovering. Thank goodness, Johnny’s recovery is nearly complete. So, let’s call it a Celebration. And it was so great to get out for the event, given all the months of COVID restrictions that everybody has been enduring.

There was music, and auction to raise some money, lots of hugs and laughs among friends who haven’t seen each other in months. Just a great evening indeed! Champy’s Wade Baker organized the terrific event. And he told The Quad Cities Daily that with vaccinations reaching a tipping point in safety, it won’t be long until things get back to normal with regular music. “Brews, Blues and Bird”, for years a major watering hole for Shoals music and food lovers, Champy’s is clearly leading the way out of this dark hole we’ve all been in, into a great Summer.

We can’t wait! Here are some EVENT PHOTOS from the evening. Best wishes Johnny. We at The Quad Cities Daily are so very happy that the healing up is going well!

This is a wonderful collection of photos for us to vicariously enjoy. Seeing Johnny Belew being celebrated is heart warming. The Times Daily has a knack for recognizing that ordinary folks such as Johnny Belew are not just ordinary, but are treasures. The world needs more Johnny Belews. Thx Steve Wiggins for spot lighting Johnny Belew again. He is so deserving. Cheers from Canada.
