James “Jamie” Don Irvin

James “Jamie” Don Irvin, age 39, of Caledonia, MS, in the Bartahatchie Community, left this world for his heavenly home on Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at his residence.  Jamie chose cremation and a memorial service may be held at a later date at the discretion of the family.  In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Otts Funeral Home to help with the family’s funeral expenses.

 

Jamie was born in Amory, MS on October 19, 1981.  He graduated from Hatley High School with honors in 2000.  Jamie attended ICC along with his best friend Mark Staten.  He worked formerly at Holley in Aberdeen, MS with his last employment with the Town of Gattman.

 

Jamie is survived by his mom and dad, Hunter and Vanessa Thompson of Bartahachie. One son, Grady Irvin and one daughter, Lily Grace Irvin of Bartahachie.  A special niece Harley Edwards of Bartahachie.  One brother, Corey Thompson (Janelle) of Bartahachie.  Maternal grandmother, Teresa Estes (Dave) of Plantersville, MS.  His aunts, Jeana Meyers (Sam) of Hamilton, MS, Tyrea White (Ken) of Pensacola, FL and Dee Derrick (Gary) of Aberdeen, MS.  His uncles, Ellis Thompson (Shae) of Vernon, AL and Alan Thompson (Cynthia) of Columbus, MS and several cousins who miss him dearly.

 

Jamie was preceded in death by his father Don Irvin, his paternal grandparents Grady and Madie Irvin.  His maternal grandfather Freddie Owens, grandparents Hunter C. and Betty Nell Thompson and an especially close cousin Leslie Woodham Potts.
