Ruby Rebecca “Becky” Marshall, 82, born and raised in Dallas, TX passed away Sunday, May 16, 2021 in Huntsville, Alabama. Becky had moved to Huntsville with her husband, John Marshall, in 2007 to be closer to her son and his family.
Becky was born June 22, 1938 to William Senter Searcy and Ruby Louise McBride. She has one sibling, her brother, William Senter Searcy, Jr. She graduated from North Dallas High School in 1956 and later married John Bradley Marshall in 1958. Becky and John resided in Dallas where they raised two sons, John Bradley Marshall, Jr. and David Winston Marshall and one daughter, Melinda Beth Marshall Harvey.
Becky enjoyed reading, writing, yard work and entertaining. She made friends easily and was blessed to have lifelong friendships. Becky worked in the construction business for 25+ years until her retirement. She loved telling people that her roots were in Texas, Coca Cola and Tex Mex cuisine.
Becky will be deeply missed by her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, her many friends and the caregivers that helped the family care for her after John passed away in 2014. She suffered from Alzheimer’s/Dementia, a terrible disease that robbed her memories and her connections to her family in her later years. However, she showed tremendous strength and courage. Her family was blessed to be with her on the day of her passing.
If you knew Becky and would like to do something for the family, we would be honored to have you make a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association in her name.
