Norman Lee PizitzNorman Lee Pizitz, 91, of Huntsville, passed away Tuesday. A true native of Huntsville, Norman was born in Huntsville Hospital and grew up on Newman Avenue. He graduated from Huntsville High School in 1947, and was a member of the football team.

Norman was a 1952 graduate of The University of Alabama and was a member of the Kappa Nu fraternity. During the Korean War, he served in the US Armed Forces. He was a community leader and a businessman throughout his life in Huntsville. Norman was an avid tennis player in a group called “The Lemonade Society”. He loved gardening, fishing, boating, riding the jet ski, and especially spending time with his beloved granddaughter, Bentley.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Abraham and Lillian Pizitz, and son, Mark Bentley Pizitz. Survivors include his wife, Velda Huggins Pizitz; daughter, Rhonda Ridner (Michael); and granddaughter, Bentley Ridner.

A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Monday, March 22 at Maple Hill Cemetery.
