Linda Fay Thompson 74, of Athens, AL died Wednesday, February 5, 2020 at her son’s home in Ardmore, Alabama.

Born Saturday, June 16, 1945 in Limestone County, AL, she was the daughter of Albert F Hemphill and Martha F. Hemphill.

Linda was a member of The Valley Echos for 15+ years. She loved to sing, loved her family, children and grandchildren. She was a devoted wife and mother. Her favorite color was red.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William Carson Thompson; brother, Troy Hemphill.

She is survived by sons, Paul William (Tonia) Thompson, Ardmore, TN and Albert Leon (Angie) Thompson, Ardmore, AL; brother, Tommy F. (Barbara) Hemphill, Ardmore, AL, sisters, Brenda Ann (Jerry) Moore, Athens, AL, Jeanie Rose (Donnie) Moore, Bryson, TN, Janie Ruth Ducar, Lakeland, FL, Robbie Kay (Diemer) Patterson, Taft, TN, and Greta Mae (Jack) Minor, Taft, TN; grandchildren, Matthew Thompson, Kayla (Timothy) Thompson Nave,
Hannah (Jesse) Crabtree and Nick Thompson; partner, Jack Hill, Athens, AL.

A Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, Alabama from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.

A Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, February 9, 2020 at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, AL, at 2:00 PM with Bro. Jeff Drake officiating. Burial will be in Gatlin Cemetery, Ardmore, AL.
