Charles “Charlie” Harvie Bee at the age of 65 entered his heavenly home on Sunday, January 20, 2019 after a long battle with cancer. Visitation will be Wednesday evening, January 23, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at South Highland Freewill Baptist Church, 704 State Street, Muscle Shoals, Alabama. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 24, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at the church. Burial will follow at Glendale Cemetery (Old Highway 20). Bro. Scott Bee, Bro. Chip Henley, and Bro. Shiloh Hackett officiating.
Pallbearers will be O’Neal Bee, Britt Bee, Danny Bee, Josh Brooks, Donnie Mayfield, Sr., Wendell Olive, Frank Katic, and Chad Zills. Honorary pallbearers are Paul Liles, Buddy Trout, and Ron Watson.
Charlie was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Bee and Stella Bee, grandparents, Charles and Irene Bee, and Clarence and Vernon Belew. He was also preceded in death by his beloved brother, Tommy Bee.
He is survived by his loving wife, Debbie Bee; sons, Michael Bee and Steven Bee; daughter, Jenny Lyell Brooks and Jeremy Lyell; grandchildren, Matthew Bee, Natalie Bee, Haley Bee, Tripp Brooks and Adina Brooks; brothers, O’Neal Bee, Britt Bee (Deanna) and Danny Bee (Vicki); and sister, Donna Swackhamer (Greg).
Charlie graduated from Rogers High School and attended Northwest Shoals Community College. He trained with the Leighton Police Reserves for 9 years, then was employed with the Leighton Police for 7 years, 3 years serving as Police Chief. He then was employed with the Colbert County Sheriff’s Dept. for 13 years, achieving the rank of Sergeant before his retirement. He was a loving, devoted husband, father and Christian man. He served as head Trustee at South Highland Freewill Baptist Church and truly loved his church and church family.
We would like to thank our church and Pastor Chip Henley for all the love and support. Also the Colbert County Sheriff’s Dept. and his Colbert County Courthouse Coworkers for their love and support. Special family and friends will never be forgotten for all of your support and love. We were all truly blessed to have known him. Heaven has gained a special man.
