Mamie Chandler Martin Neese, age 80 of Athens, passed away on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at her residence. Mrs. Neese was born November 25, 1938 in Limestone County to Fred Martin and Mary Huston Martin.
Services for Mrs. Neese are Sunday, December 9, 2018 at Athens First United Methodist Church at 4:00 p.m. with Kenny Baskins and Joel Carwile officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, December 9, 2018 from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. prior to the service.
She is survived by her husband, Charles Neese; sons, Grayson Bailey (Bobbi) and Martin Bailey (Kim); step sons, Bill Neese, Ray Neese (Carlene) and David Lee Neese (Rita); brothers, Fred Martin, David Martin and Richard Martin; grandchildren, Korah Bailey Pepper, Samantha Bailey, Riggs Bailey, Josh Bailey, Melissa Neese and Lisa Neese; several step grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was a lifetime member of First United Methodist Church and a teacher with Athens City Schools. She graduated with a master’s degree from Alabama A&M University and a Degree from the University of Alabama.
