Lavern Pinkerton Corbett, age 84, of Vernon, AL passed away Saturday, October 27, 2018 at Hospice of West Alabama in Tuscaloosa, AL. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at 11:00am from Oakes Chapel Baptist Church with burial to follow in Oakes Chapel Cemetery. Bro. Joe Moseley and Bro. Billy Carl Sullivan to officiate. Visitation will be held at the church prior to the funeral service from 9:30am until service time at 11:00am.

Lavern was born on July 24, 1934 in Sulligent, AL to the late Alvin Pinkerton and the late Lona Mae Barker. She was a 1953 graduate of Sulligent High School. Lavern was previously employed at McCoy Manufacturing and Reltoc. She was a member of Oakes Chapel Baptist Church. Lavern enjoyed cooking, sewing, quilting and fishing.
