Sara Whitaker Comer, 73, of Iuka, passed away Sunday, July 22, 2018. Her visitation will be Wednesday, July 25th from noon to 2 p.m. at Snowdown Methodist Church, Iuka. Funeral service will immediately follow at 2 p.m. with Donny Riley officiating. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery.
Sara was a Christian and a member of Snowdown Methodist Church. She loved her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She loved spending time with them, when she could. She was a gold card member of ATA and enjoyed fishing and deer hunting.
She is survived by her son, Wade Comer (Sandy); daughter, Madonna Waldrep (Keith); brother, Jimmie Whitaker (Betty); grandchildren, Matthew Dillard, Logan Comer, Shawna Guthrie (Barron), Kaylee Comer, Bradley Gallaher and Garrett Bond (Megan); great-grandchildren, Austin Guthrie, Memphis Guthrie, Maison Guthrie, Rayden Bond and Gaitlan Bond; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Cathy Saucier, Dick and Frances Neideffer, Margie Talley, Elaine Stanley, Celisa Harwood, Mary Honeycutt, Ella Jean Moore, the women’s Sunday school class of Lizana; and sister-in-law of 67 years, Clara Whitaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Dora Talley Whitaker; brothers, Chuck, Bob and James Earl; sisters, Mollie, Mary Elizabeth and Louise; and granddaughter, Chastinie Comer.
Pallbearers will be Robbie Comer, Matthew Dillard, Logan Comer, Johnny Southward, Marlon Harwood and Joe Walker.
Honorary pallbearer will be Juliana Coburn.
