James B. Ford, 78 of Florence passed away on Wednesday, May 30, 2018. Visitation will be Saturday, June 2, at Valley View House of Prayer from 5:00 until 9:00 p.m. The funeral service will be Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at the church with Bro. Larry Burbank officiating. He will lie in state from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. at the church. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery, Waterloo, AL.
James was a native of Lauderdale County and was a disabled mechanic with the Alabama State Highway Department. He was a loving father, grandfather, brother and friend. He enjoyed spending time with his family, spending time outdoors, and playing bingo. He lived a joyful life.
James was preceded in death by his grandson, Greg Aday, parents, Bob and Mary Ford; brother, Wilburn Ford; sister, Jesse Mae Gill.
James is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Nadean Ford; sons, Robert and John Ford; daughters, Wilma Aday, Regina May, Shonda Coats.; sister, Rose Jones; thirteen grandchildren and twenty-three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Robin, Shane, Trent, Coddy, and Dustin Aday, Gary and Terry Ford, Tommy and Alex Atkinson and Adam Ford.
