Shirley Faye Pigg King, born November 6, 1943, to Jess and Erron Pigg of Sardis, passed away on Thursday, October 1, 2026, at the age of 82.

Shirley was a God-loving woman whose faith was an important part of her life. She loved her family with all her heart and treasured the time she was able to spend with those closest to her. Her family was truly one of her greatest joys.

When Shirley wasn’t inside enjoying time with her family, you could often find her outside in her garden. She loved being outdoors, tending to her plants, and enjoying the simple beauty of the world around her. Her love, faith, and devotion to her family will continue to live on through the many lives she touched.

Shirley is survived by her two daughters, Ronda King Hicks (Gene) and Legetia King; son, Terry King; two granddaughters, Charly Osmer and Jessica King; grandson, Auston Rusk; great-grandson, Caynon Klump; great-granddaughter, Cortland Shockley; sister, Ila Pigg King; and brother, Gary Pigg (Glenda).

She was preceded in death by her husband, Birton King; her parents, Jess and Erron (Wilkins) Pigg; sisters, Youvon Pigg Darnell and Rachel Pigg Baker (James); brothers, Harbergen “Snake” Pigg and David “Shotgun” Pigg; two sisters-in-law; seven brothers-in-law; and mother-in-law, Gladys Bagwell King Pair.

Shirley will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, but above all, as a woman who loved God and her family wholeheartedly. Her garden may be quiet now, but the love she planted in her family will continue to grow for generations.
