Jeanne Marie Reinhardt, 83, of Decatur, passed away on Dec. 18, 2017. She was born on Oct. 1, 1934. Mrs. Reinhardt was a nurse for over 40 years. She spent 17 of those years as Director of Nursing for Decatur General Hospital. Mrs. Reinhardt was the true definition of “giver”. Weekly, she would volunteer at the gift shop at Decatur Morgan and at the local free clinic. Mrs. Reinhardt was an active member in her church, St. Paul’s Lutheran, where she was a member of LWML and Ladies Auxiliary. She held a special place in her heart for girls that were not as fortunate as others; she did all she could to help them. She was a yearly donor to Children’s International. Not only did Mrs. Reinhardt enjoy helping people; she also had a love for animals. She called her dogs and cats her babies. Mrs. Reinhardt worked hard to achieve all that she did. She will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Mrs. Reinhardt is preceded in death by her parents, David John Wells and Helene Elizabeth Orlowski Wells; husband, Reverend Ronald A. Reinhardt, Pastor Emeritus of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church; son, Scott Reinhardt; and brother, David Wells.

She is survived by son, Mark Reinhardt; grandchildren, Leslie Parker (Curtis), Mary Allison Reinhardt, Henry Reinhardt, and William Reinhardt; great-granddaughter, Hala Parker; sisters, Dolores Woodruff and Sharon Keane; and brothers, Robert Wells and James Wells.

A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, Dec. 22, 2017, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, with visitation on Thursday, Dec. 21, 2017 at Roselawn Funeral Home from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Burial will be in Burningtree Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church or Children’s International.
