Vivian Hill Yancey, 99 of Somerville, the Lacey’s Spring community, died Saturday December 9, 2017 at Diversicare in Arab.
Mrs. Yancey was born September 20, 1918 in Morgan County to Ellis Hill and Bama Gilley Hill. She worked in the Cafeteria for NASA until her retirement. Her husband William Elbert Yancey preceded her in death September 14, 1992. In her younger years she enjoyed fishing, water skiing and was in a bowling league.
Mrs. Yancey was a member of Brindlee Mountain Baptist Church.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law: Ronald B. Yancey and Faye Nell and her sister: Avis Thomas. She was preceded in death by her husband: William Elbert Yancey; her parents: Ellis and Bama Hill and her brother and sisters: Ralph Hill, Geraldine Guthrie, Vera King and Avies King.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday December 12, 2017 at Brindlee Mountain Chapel in Morgan City with Brother: Eldridge Criscoe, officiating. Burial will be in Union Grove Cemetery-Morgan County with Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel and Brindlee Mountain Chapel, directing.
Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Tuesday December 12, 2017 at Brindlee Mountain Chapel, prior to the service.
