Mark T. George, age 67, of Decatur, Alabama, passed away on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, at his residence.
Born on March 3, 1959, in Hartselle, Alabama, Mark was the son of Ira Eli George, Jr. and Bettye Nation George. He dedicated many years of his career as a machinist with General Motors, where he was known for his strong work ethic and commitment to his profession.
Mark had a deep appreciation for the outdoors and especially enjoyed hunting. He found great joy in spending time in nature and pursuing the activities he loved.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ira Eli George, Jr. and Bettye Nation George.
Those left to cherish his memory include his brothers, Michael (Marty) George and Ira “Pete” George, III; his sister, Leah George; and his special cousin, Joe (Bridget) Woodall, along with other extended family members and friends.
The family will hold a memorial service for Mark at a later date.
Mark will be remembered for his quiet strength, dedication to his family, and love of the outdoors. His memory will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
