Velda Bonita Carmichael, age 91 of Jasper, passed away on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at Brookwood Walker Baptist.
The family will receive friends on Friday, September 1, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. at Collins-Burke Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Friday, September 1, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the Collins-Burke Chapel, with burial at Oak Hill Cemetery. Danny Goddard and Greg Wood will officiate.
Mrs. Carmichael was preceded in death by her Father-Lee Roy Waldrep; Mother-Nollie Waldrep; Brothers-Walker Lee, Tommy and John; Sisters-Flora Mae, Thelma, Lois and Jean.
She is survived by her Husband-Guy O. Carmichael of Jasper; Daughter-Jan Whittington (Mike) of Jasper; Son-Eddie Carmichael (Venita) of Shelbyville, TN; Sister-Georgia Franks of Jasper; Brother-Ken Waldrep of Hoover; Grandchildren-Blake Tapley and Morgan Tapley; Special Family-Kim Tapley and Tommy Tapley.
The family requests that memorial donations be made to the Salvation Army for the Houston flood victims or a charity of your choice.
