Mary Jean Watson Harper, longtime Tupelo educator, church and civic leader and the widow of Ed Harper, died Sunday, Jan. 22, 2017 at Legends Health Care and Rehabilitation Center in Houston, TX.
Jean had moved to Houston as her health failed to be near her son, Cliff and his family. She was a longtime active member of the First United Methodist Church in Tupelo and a talented and gifted teacher in the Tupelo Public Schools for years.
A service celebrating her life will be held at 2 PM Friday, January 27, 2017 at the Tupelo Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors with Rev. Fred Britton officiating. Burial will follow in Lee Memorial Park/.
Visitation will be from Noon-service time Friday only at Holland-Tupelo Chapel.
Jean is survived by her two children: Cliff Harper and Kayla Harper of Houston, TX, 3 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren
