Patricia Ann Darby, 72, passed away Jan. 7, 2017 after an extended illness. Visitation will be 11 a.m. to noon today at Colbert Memorial Chapel. The service will follow in the funeral home chapel, with burial in Colbert Memorial Gardens.
Ms. Darby was preceeded in death by her father, Alfred Sample and mother, Rixford Sample.
Survivors include sons, Blair Darby (Melissa) and Brent Darby and very special former daughter-in-law, Rosa Darby; grandchildren, Whitney McCreless (Chris), Nicole Darby, Cory Darby, and Christopher Darby; great-grandchildren, Abbie Grace and Charlee Beth McCreless.
She was a dedicated mother, a loving nana, and a dear friend to the loved ones around her. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the light of her world and her joy was spending time with them. She was a strong minded, independent woman who was always willing to do things for the people she loved.
Pallbearers will be Cory Darby, Christopher Darby, Chris McCreless, Bo Terrell, Blair Darby, and Brent Darby.
