Edd Melvin “Bubba” Goodloe was born April 27,1941 in Barton, Alabama to the late Robert “Bill” Goodloe and Norene Thompson Goodloe.
He confessed hope in Christ an early age and united with Zion No. Missionary Baptist Church, Barton, AL.
Edd started his career in the Military during the Vietnam War and served his tour in Germany. Afterwards, he worked for the Tennessee Valley Authority as a Gas and Diesel Mechanic for Twenty-Eight Years. His most notable quote was “All you have is your word”.
Though Edd’s earthly journey has come to an end, the memories he created, the lessons he shared, and the love he gave will remain in the hearts of those who knew him.
His life was a blessing, his memory a treasure, and his word a legacy.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three siblings: Queen Esther Goodloe, John Calvin Goodloe (Ruby), and Shirley Ann Hogan (Mansell).
He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved longtime companion, Mary Davis of Tuscumbia, Alabama; his two children, Alisha Lorene Goodloe of Huntsville, Alabama, and Edd Melvin “Dewitt” Goodloe Jr. of Douglasville, Georgia; and three grandchildren, David James Goodloe and Alesia Briana Goodloe of New York, and Collin Dewitt Goodloe of South Carolina. He is also survived by his brother, Robert Simon Goodloe (Margaret) of Barton Alabama, and his sister, Johnnie Francis Goodloe of Ft Worth, Texas. A host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members/friends are also in lamentation.
