Today we celebrate the life of Henrietta Marie Robinson Curry She departed from this life on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at Decatur Memorial Hospital surrounded by her family.
Henrietta was born August 8, 1944 in Jackson, Tennessee. The daughter of beloved father John Henry and mother, Viola Robinson (Graves). She attended West High High School where she met the love of her life Reverend Ivory Curry.
They have remained united in holy matrimony for 55 years. Later they both moved to Decatur, Illinois in 1963.
Henrietta worked at General Electric Company for five years. She furthered her education and graduated from Mr. John’s School of Cosmetology. After graduating she began working at Lincoln Manor as a Cosmetologist. She also received certification in Early Childhood Education which enabled her to adopted seven of her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John Henry and Viola (Graves) Robinson and her daughter: Veronica Curry.
She leaves to cherish fond memories her husband Reverend Ivory Curry of Decatur, Ill; children: Ivory F. Curry of Decatur, Ill; Loretta M.Canada (Curry) of Rockford, Ill; Jerry L. Curry of Decatur, Ill; Wanda J. Curry of Jackson, TN; Christopher D. Curry of Decatur, Ill; Christina H. Curry (Eli) Rice of Jackson, TN. A host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
