Mary Torraca Zitelli, age 95, died Monday, September 19, 2016 at the Coen Green House of Methodist Senior Services in Tupelo. She was born May 15, 1921 in Brooklyn, New York to Rocco and Mariana Torraca, who migrated to the United States from Italy. She worked as a dental hygienist for all her adult life, before retiring. She lived in Tupelo for the past 26 years coming from Fort Lauderdale, FL, and was a member of St. James Catholic Church. Mary was a genuine character, loved to eat out with her “golden girls” and generally enjoyed the wonders of life.
She is survived by her children, Lisa Lippincott and her husband, Dr. Ken Lippincott of Tupelo and Lorraine Cruz of New York; her grandchildren, David Cruz, Jamie Cruz, Lauren Darsey (Dr. Will), Johnny Lippincott, and Chris Lippincott; two great grandchildren, Sidney Caroline Darsey and William Sidney Darsey.
A small private family Mass service will be held out of town at a later date. Holland Funeral Directors Tupelo Chapel is honored to assist the family with arrangements.
