Winford McGarian Kent Sr. “Pete”, 81, took his eternal flight on Sept. 22, 2016, surrounded by his family.
A visitation and celebration of life was held Saturday, Sept. 24, 2016, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home. A service will be held today at 2 p.m. in the Chapel with the Rev. James Horne officiating.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Gaynell Engle Kent; son, Winford McGarian Kent Jr. “Mac” (Rita); daughters, Marcella Graves (Frankie), Shelia Denard (Kenneth), and Debbie Seal (Tim); grandchildren, Dustin (Emily) Graves, Brian (Liz) Denard, Kevin (Sara) Denard, Nicholas (Stephanie) Denard, Hollie Terry (Nathan), Britney (Josh) Anders, Kelley (Mitchell) Chance, Heather Kent, Kimberlee (Brandon) Keel, and Winford McGarian Kent III (Trey); and 15 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Kent was preceded in flight by his parents, James Russell and Mamie Harp Kent; sister, Lizzie Mae McCrary; brothers, Nolan Kent and Clyde Kent; grandson, Cameron Cecil Kent; and niece, Jean Baraglia.
Mr. Kent was a deacon in the Church of God. He was also a great husband, father, and granddad. He instilled in his family a hard-working ethic.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons.
