James Clifford Marshall, III, 71, of Killen, Alabama, passed away on August 12, 2016.

A service to celebrate Jim’s life will be held at 11:00 AM on August 27 atFirst Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Rogersville, Alabama. Pastor Pat Driskell will be officiating. Visitation with the family will begin at 10:30 a.m.  Elkins East Chapel is assisting the family.

Jim was born in Titusville, Pennsylvania, on September 16, 1944. He graduated from Oil City High School and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Eckerd College in St Petersburg, Florida.

He was preceded in death by his parents James Clifford Marshall, Jr., and Tipi Hawk Marshall McCracken.

Jim was married to Martha Brooks Marshall on December 19, 1971; they were married 44 years.

He is Survived by his wife Martha, Killen, Alabama, sisters Linda Bennett, Memphis, Tennessee, Zephyr Cecchi (Roger), Aurora, Colorado, and brother David Marshall, (Victoria Bour), Sausalito, California; his children Edwin Neil Mitchell III (Patty), Eric Marshall (Alberto Santiago), and Jason Marshall (Lindsey); grandchildren Kevin Mitchell, Lance Mitchell (Sharon), Jillian Ilgenfritz (Jeff), Alexandra Pew (Brian), Danielle Murphy (Kevin), Piper Marshall, and River Marshall; great-grandchildren Aidan Marshall, Dawson Pew, Hunter Pew, Evan Mitchell, and Alexa Mitchell.

Jim worked in the construction industry for over 40 years. He especially enjoyed yearly vacations in the Great Smoky Mountains surrounded by his children and grandchildren, playing and watching sports, and family time. He coached basketball, Pop Warner football, Little League baseball, and was an avid golfer. He was actively involved in numerous youth organizations and charities.
