Mr. Joshua Dwayne Cox, 32, of Florence, passed away at his residence on May 28, 2016. He was a member of Thousand Hills Cowboy Church.
Visitation will be at Greenview Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 31, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be on Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. in Greenview Memorial Chapel with Pastor Nathan Duncan and Brother Mickey Brackin officiating. Burial will follow in Greenview Memorial Park.
Although Joshua’s illness made him appear frail, make no mistake that he possessed strength and an ability to overcome incredible odds and physical challenges. He could spend hours reading his bible and listening to gospel hymns. He loved God, his family, his pets and vacuuming. Going to church was what he enjoyed the most.
Josh’s passing should remind others that life is to be celebrated. We know that Josh slipped through the fingers of his family and into the loving arms of our Heavenly Father. He went peacefully to join the others that have gone before him. How we would love to hear his sweet voice sing again! Although, we will miss him every day, he will forever remain in our hearts. Knowing that he has a new body and is walking with Jesus, gives us comfort and peace.
Josh was preceded in death by his father, Robert Cox; maternal grandparents, Cecil and Adolphine Patterson and his paternal grandparents, Raymond and Paytre Cox.
Survivors include his mother, Linda Moore; step-dad, Ray Moore both of Lawrenceburg; step-sister, Lindsey Estes of Mt. Pleasant, TN; step-grandmother, Barbara McGee also of Lawrenceburg; uncles, Tommy Patterson (Teresa) of Florence and Ronnie Cox (Ginny) of Paris, TN; aunt, Trish Hopkins (Keith) of Paris, TN and numerous family members and friends.
