Phillip-Risner-1463892230Phillip Douglas Risner departed this life on Sunday, May 22, 2016, at Waynesboro Health and Rehabilitation Center in Waynesboro, Tennessee, at the age of 65 years, 11 months, and two days. He was born June 20, 1950, in Hohenwald, Tennessee the son of the late Charles Edgar and Mamie Lorene Lockard Risner. In addition to his parents, Mr. Risner was preceded in death by a sister, Trudy Dicus, and niece, Tonya Carol Risner.
He was united in marriage to Barbara Ann Kelley on March 3, 1972. Phillip was a dozer driver for 25 years with the Tennessee Forestry. He had also worked at Murray Ohio Manufacturing and Wayne County Sheriff Department as a radio dispatcher and was of the Freewill Baptist faith.
Survivors are wife, Barbara Ann Kelley Risner, Collinwood, Tennessee; son, Phillip Shane Risner and wife, Christy, Florence, Alabama; grandchildren, Emily Jordan Fleischer and Katelin Cheyanne Risner; brothers, Gerald Samuel Risner and wife, Brenda, Collinwood, Tennessee, and Justin Risner, Adamsville, Tennessee; sisters, Carolyn Risner, Collinwood, Tennessee, and Gilda Kay Risner Staggs, Savannah, Tennessee; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be today at 1 p.m. at Shackelford Funeral Home chapel, Collinwood, Tennessee, with Conner Kelley and John E. Banks officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens, Collinwood, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County, directing. Pallbearers are Terry Brewer, Jamie Steele, Paul Gatlin, Donald Gatlin, Adam Alexander, Lucas Robbins, and Jeremy McFall. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
