Donald Martin Taylor, Florence, Alabama, was born June 22, 1936 in Collinwood, Tennessee. Mr. Taylor was retired from Western Electric/Lucent Technologies and was a member of the Faith Church and Stateline Church and departed this life Thursday, May 19, 2016 at ECM Hospital in Florence, Alabama at the age of 79 Years, 10 Months, 27 Days.
Survivors include wife, Violet Robertson Taylor, Florence, Alabama; sons, Paul Taylor and wife, Gayla, Waynesboro, Tennessee and Jason Taylor and wife, Kim, Ardmore, Alabama; stepson, Jeffry Robertson and wife Tracy, Collinwood, Tennessee; daughters, April Donareece Whiting, Huntington, Tennessee, Ronda LeBlanc and husband Christopher, Gresov, Florence, Alabama; step daughter, Vicki Mitchell and husband Jim, Cleveland, Tennessee; ten grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul J. and Beula Martin Taylor; his first wife, Jacqueline Johnson Taylor and an infant sister.
Services will be Sunday, May 22, 2016, at 1:30 p.m. at Shackelford Funeral Directors Chapel, Collinwood, Tennessee, with Keith Montgomery officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens, Collinwood, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County directing. Visitation will be today, May 21, 2016, from 6-9 p.m. and Sunday, May 22, 2016, from 11 am until service time at the funeral home.
