Funeral Services for Essie Idella Phillips, age 90 of Cullman, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 4, 2016 in the Cullman Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Fairview Baptist Cemetery, with Bro. Tony Tidwell & Bro. Steve Rodgers officiating.

Essie was born on May 1, 1926 to the late Lee & Lottie Akins Bartlett. She passed away at her residence on Sunday, May 1, 2016. She was a charter member of Olde Time Way Baptist Church. Mrs. Phillips was a farmer, enjoyed gardening, cutting grass and feeding all the birds in Cullman County. The family wishes to thank all of her caregivers and Hospice of Cullman County for all that was done to make her comfortable.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Alvin Phillips; and 3 brothers, Willmer, Elmer & Julian Bartlett.
She is survived by her Daughter – Geana (Allen Burks) Bailey; Sis-in-Law – Adilee Bartlett; Granddaughter – Karla Bailey; 2 – Great-Grandchildren – Hagan & Emmlana; and a Host of Nieces, Nephews & other Family; and a Special Pet – Little Bit.
The family will receive friends for visitation at the funeral home on Wednesday, May 4, 2016 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.
