James E. Johnson, 86 of Huntsville passed away Wednesday at a local hospital.

James was a native and lifelong resident of Huntsville. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and a member of All Nations Church (formerly Hillsboro Heights Baptist Church). James was preceded in death by his parents: Hugh and Bernice (Fann) Johnson; one brother: E. C. (Buttermilk) Johnson and one sister: Helen Johnson Wynn.

Survivors include his wife: Elnora (Davis) Johnson; his children: Lisa (Renea) Doughton-Johnson and Karen Johnson; four grandchildren: Brooke Forsythe (Greg), Spencer Tate and Ramsey and Lacey Doughton-Johnson; one great-grandchild: Elliott Forsythe; his sister: Frances Sullivan (Larry) and special friends Dub and Alice Harbin. Honorary Pallbearers are: Greg Wynn, David, Jeff, and Ronnie Johnson and Kenny Harbin.

Visitation will be Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Berryhill Funeral Home followed by a Chapel service at 12:00 p.m. with Dr. Larry Inman officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the All Nations Church Fellowship Hall Fund or Alzheimer’s Research (Alz. org).
