Roy O. King, age 82, passed away Saturday, Feb. 13, 2016. He was born Oct. 23, 1933, in Bemis, Tennessee, and graduated in 1951 from J.B. Young High School and later from business college. Roy was an Army veteran and worked for many years for Norfolk Southern Railroad. After retirement from the railroad, he enjoyed many days playing golf with his friends.
Roy was preceded in death by his father, Daniel Roy King; his mother, Bertha Hooten King; a brother Billy and a sister Shelby. He is survived by his wife Joyce Alexander King; a son Keith (Becky); a daughter Penne; and grandchildren Julie and Alex King.
Services will be Monday, Feb. 15, 2016. Visitation will be from 2-3 p.m. with the funeral service at 3 p.m. at Colbert Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow in Colbert Memorial Gardens. Stacy Crim is officiating.
The family would like to thank Dr. Karr, Dr. Ridgeway and the ICU full staff at Helen Keller Hospital for their compassion and care during this difficult time.
