PINSON-The search continues for two-year-old Noah Israel Chamberlin who was reported missing to the Chester County Sheriff’s Office around 1:20 p.m on Thursday, January 14. More than 200 volunteers have been sent out from the staging area at the old Pinson school to the wooded area where Noah was last seen.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has asked residents who live near the search area to also search their properties.
Noah went missing at about 1:20 p.m. Thursday in woods off Short Road in Chester County, just south of Pinson. He was out walking in the woods with his grandmother and 4-year-old sister, authorities have said. Tom Mapes, public information officer for the Madison County Sheriff’s Office said they had sat down to talk, and the grandmother was paying attention to the sister and turned to find Noah gone.
Mapes said the TBI would like nearby residents to search their properties in case Noah might have taken shelter overnight.
“The TBI has announced they would like to issue a challenge for anybody that lives within a five- to six-mile radius of the site to go out and check their areas like barns, cars, sheds — anywhere a young child could hide because he could have gotten sacred during the night,” Mapes said.
Volunteers who want to help search the area where Noah was last seen have been gathering at the old Pinson school on the west side of U.S. 45 in Pinson. Volunteers must be 18 or older with a valid ID. The former school and Pinson Baptist Church next door are being used as a staging area for the search, and people also are setting up there to give food and water to the searchers.
Chamberlin is a white male. He is 2’0” and weighs approximately 25 lbs. He has blond hair and blue eyes.
