DECATUR- An Officer with the Decatur Police Department’s Patrol Division made a traffic stop which resulted in the arrest of two suspects on charges of drug trafficking.
The Decatur Police Department made this statement regarding the arrests:
“SYNOPSIS OF OFFENSE & ARREST:
On January 1, 2015, Officer Brandi Reed with the Decatur Police Department’s Patrol Division conducted a traffic stop at 2101 Stratford Place SE for failing to signal a turn. The driver was identified as Patrick Wade Durbin and the passenger was identified as Kimberly Lynn Davenport.
During the course of the stop Officer Reed observed Davenport attempting to hide something underneath her seat. After a search of the vehicle Officer Reed located a large quantity of several different types of drugs.
Inv. Hudson with Decatur Police Department’s Organized Crime Unit was called to the
scene.
Inv. Hudson observed a large quantity of methamphetamine “Ice” that weighed approximately half a pound, a large quantity of controlled prescription medication, and a quantity of cocaine. Also located inside the vehicle was drug paraphernalia that is consistent with the illegal sales of narcotics. The street value for the seized narcotics is approximately $35,000.00.
Durbin was placed under arrest and charged with Trafficking in Illegal Drugs, two counts of Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Carrying a Concealed Weapon (Brass Knuckles) and Turn Signals Required.
Durbin is currently out on Parole. Inv. Hudson made contact with Durbin’s Parole Officer and paperwork is being filed to have Durbin revoked on his new charges.
Durbin’s bond for Trafficking in Illegal Drugs was set at $500,000.00 by Judge Jennifer Howell.
Durbin’s total bond was set at $507,000.00
Davenport was placed under arrest and charged with Trafficking in Illegal Drugs, two counts of Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Tampering with Physical Evidence.
Davenport is currently out on bond for a prior felony drug charge.
Davenport’s bond for Trafficking in illegal Drugs was also set at $500,000.00 by Judge Howell.
Davenport’s total bond was set at $506,500.00.”
