Cleo Lewis Gay, Jr., 74, of Huntsville, passed away Friday. Mr. Gay was preceded in death by his parents, Cleo Lewis Gay and Imogene Mayfield Cross. He was a member of the American Legion Post 237 for 34 years, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles for 25 years. He enjoyed watching Alabama football and calling bingo for many years.

Survivors include his wife, Kay McCarrick; son, Thomas Gay (Lisa); stepson, Lee Overton (Wendy); brother, Billy Wayne Birchfield (Patsy); sister, Elizabeth Gilliam; grandchildren, Samantha Apodaca (Jay), Matthew Gay, and Nathaniel Gay; great-grandchildren, Blake, Carter, and Addyson Apodaca; and step-grandson, Payton Byrd.

Visitation will be from 2 to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 30 at Laughlin Service Funeral Home. The funeral service will immediately follow in the chapel with Dr. James Harrell officiating. Interment will be in the mausoleum at Faith Memorial Park.
