Cecil Wayne Carpenter, 73, of Florence, passed away December 10, 2015 at his residence. He was a member of Hendrix Chapel Church of Christ, and owner of Carpenter’s Body Shop.
Visitation will be held Friday, December 11, 2015 from 6 – 9 p.m. at Hendrix Chapel Church of Christ. The funeral service will be Saturday, December 12, 2015 at 12 p.m. at the church with Wayne Wood officiating. Burial will follow the service in the adjoining cemetery.
Mr. Carpenter was preceded in death by his father, Lelon Carpenter; sister, Bonita Carpenter; great-grandson, Judson Case Woods.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Glenda Winters Carpenter; mother, Glenice Carpenter; daughters, Nita Woods (Dale), Cindy Rhodes (Tim), Lena Weaver (Jeff), and Alanna Rhodes (Bill); sons, Matt and Josh Carpenter; brothers, Larry Carpenter (Wanda), Don Carpenter (Maria); brother-in-law, Leonard Winters; sisters, Shirlene Kiel, Rita White (Ricky); grandchildren, Kim Vaughn (Brian), Chris Woods (Brooke), Tia Wanner (Chris), Kate Weaver, Jon, Shelby, and Ansley Rhodes; great-grandchildren, Kolby and Kaydee Vaughn, Gavin Woods, and Payton Wanner.
Active pallbearers will be: Chris Woods, Jon Rhodes, Ronnie Carpenter, B.J. Carpenter, Bo Smith, and Zack Smith.
Honorary pallbearers will include: Donald Darby, Grady Smith, Willard Dawson, Freddie Fell, and Buddy McClure.
