MORGAN COUNTY-The Morgan County Sheriff’s Office conducted drug investigation from November 5 through November 6 arresting several suspects on drug possession charges. Here is the statement from the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office:
“On November 6th, 2015, Morgan County Deputies stopped a vehicle on Interstate 65 at the 319 mile marker. Deputies stopped the vehicle for traveling 99 mph in a 70 mph zone. Deputies made contact with a Clayton Tyler Allen, 23, Stacie Marie Carter, 18, and a 16 year old juvenile female all of the Mobile area. Deputies observed that Allen appeared to be very nervous. Deputies utilized a K-9 that was on scene to conduct a search of the outside of the vehicle. The K-9 alerted to the presence of narcotics in the vehicle. Deputies conducted a search of the vehicle and discovered syringes, straws, and a meth pipe.
Deputies spoke with Ms. Carter and she stated that she had meth concealed on her person. Ms. Carter removed the meth which weighed 1 gram. Morgan County Drug Task Force Agents were called and responded to the scene. Agents charged Mr. Allen with Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance-Methamphetamine after he admitted to giving the meth to Ms. Carter to hide. Ms. Carter was charged with Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. While on scene, agents and deputies discovered that the juvenile was a runaway from Mobile County DHR. Agents also discovered that Allen had provided Ms. Carter and the juvenile with meth. Due to the juvenile smoking meth, deputies took her to Decatur-Morgan Hospital for evaluation. Morgan County DHR was called to the hospital as well. The juvenile was going to be turned back over to the custody of Mobile County DHR. Since Mr. Allen provided the meth to the females he was also charged with Unlawful Distribution of a Controlled Substance. Mr. Allen remains in Morgan County Jail with a $52,500.00 bond. Ms. Carter remains in jail with a $300 bond.
While conducting the investigation on Mr. Allen at the Morgan County Jail, an unrelated female, Stephanie Shockley, 35, was brought from Drug Court. Shockley had told the judge that she had been on a drug binge for the last several days. Judge Thompson had remanded her back into custody. Upon search of Ms. Shockley’s personal effects, a small plastic baggie was found containing a white powdery substance. The substance tested positive for Cocaine. Drug Task Force Agents interviewed Ms. Shockley and she was subsequently arrested for Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance-Cocaine. Shockley remains in Morgan County Jail with a $2,500.00 bond.
Agents also report that on November 5th, 2015, agents arrested Jerome Lashon Murphy, 29, for Unlawful Distribution of a Controlled Substance-Methamphetamine. Agents had conducted a several month long investigation on Murphy. Agents had made several controlled purchases from Murphy at different locations throughout the county.”
