ATHENS-Tragic tales of ghostly lore were told Tuesday night during the weekly Haunts Walk. Walking groups looked for spirits and specters as storytellers regaled them with spooky speculations about odd occurrences in historic downtown Athens at the Lovvorn home, City Cemetery, Gov. Houston’s home, The Square and Founders Hall. At Gov. Houston’s home, for example, visitors and workers report hearing the governor’s favorite grandfather clock chiming, even though the clock cannot be found.
