Virginia Lorene Hayes Sharp – Obituary

grannyOur “Granny,” Virginia Lorene Hayes Sharp, completed her earthly journey August 31, 2015 and now resides in the presence of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Her greatest love was her family, and she was always ready for a family party, wedding, etc. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Noel Sharp, Sr., and her grandsons, Guy Clifton McCombs III (Mac) and Andrew Elliott Carpenter.
She is survived by one sister, Betty Nix, and five children, Fred Noel Sharp, Jr. (Chris), Sandra Sharp Carpenter (Judge George), Susie Sharp Heird (Murphy), Janice Sharp McCombs (Guy), and her baby Jeffrey Allen Sharp (Shirley).
She is survived by ten grandchildren, Diane Sharp Barley (Clint)-Alabama; Shaun Muston (Kelly)-Michigan; Patrick Noel Sharp (Maryann)-California; Anna Noelle Carpenter Soph (Mike)-Tennessee; Jeremy Win Martin (Kristen)-Texas; Evan Heird (Janel)-The Gambia East Africa; Kristen McCombs Huffman (David)-Mississippi; Mary Katherine McCombs-Mississippi; U.S. Air Force E3 Jeffrey Allen Sharp, Jr. (Taylor)-Montana; U.S. Army Specialist E4 Jacob Adam Sharp-South Carolina.
She is survived by 21 great-grandchildren, Braxton, Davis and Brooklynn Barley(Alabama); Cara, Evan, Caleb, Ryan and Aubree Muston(Michigan); Matilda and Oliver Sharp(California); Kate, Andrew and Ben Soph (Tennessee); Hailey and Dylan Martin (Alabama); Will, Sam, Mackie Claire and Reed Huffman (Mississippi); Callie Marie McCombs (Mississippi); and, Sadie Reese Sharp (Montana).
Services for Granny will be visitation Elkins Funeral Home, Hermitage Drive, Florence, Wednesday, September 2, from 5-8 p.m. with a graveside service at Florence City Cemetery on Thursday, September 3, at 11:00 a.m., with Judge George Carpenter officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Andrew Elliott Carpenter Memorial Scholarship, C/O the Alumni Fund, University of Alabama, P.O. Box 861928, Tuscaloosa, Alabama 35486-0017.

Susie & Family–So sorry for your loss. It sure sounds like she had a beautiful life filled with all that matters. I know you will miss her terribly. You will all be in my thoughts & prayers in the days ahead. To God be the Glory!
