Funeral service for Russell R. Messinger, 87, will be Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at 7:00 PM at with Bro. Jack Redfearn officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be Wednesday, September 2, 2015 from 5:00 PM to 6:45 PM at the funeral home.
Mr. Messinger died on Sunday, August 30, 2015 at his residence. He was born March 15, 1928, in Cook County, Illinois, to Charles Messinger and Mildred Karnuth Messinger. Russ and Gloria (Kassmier) were married for 55 years before her passing in 2002. He was a production manager at GTE Automatic Electric Comapny in Northlake, IL and worked at Paddock Publications in Arlington Heights, IL and operated his own Janitorial Service sucessfully for many years. He retired with Gloria to Hartselle, Alabama in 1992. He loved cooking with Gloria, model railroading, big band music, fishing, attending his grandchildren’s sporting events, and loved every moment with his family and life long friends. Russ is preceded in death by his beloved wife: Gloria, his parents and his sister: Delores Peterson.
