Willard Burt Parker, 85, who was born Feb. 12, 1930, in Lawrence County, Alabama, died Aug. 20, 2015, in Town Creek, Alabama.
He is survived by sons, Larry Parker (Wanda), Town Creek, Alabama, Gary Parker (Micki), Moulton, Alabama, and Steven Parker, Florence, Alabama; stepdaughter, Malissa Martin (Steve), Mt. Hope, Alabama; brother, Gene Parker (Shelby), Town Creek, Alabama; sister, Eloise Martin (Bobby), Courtland, Alabama; grandsons, Jared Parker (Emily), Drew Parker (Pam), Tyler Parker, and Riley Parker; granddaughters, Monica Parker, Jessica Coan (Keith), Misty Martin, and Mandy Blankenship (Tim); great-granddaughters, Saydee Coan and Isabella Parker; great-grandson, Jase Blankenship; and good friend and Air Force buddy, Jim Mahurin, Ornogo, Missouri.
He was preceded in death by wife, Shirley Frost Parker, wife, Mary Vernell Bradford Parker, father, Lewis Parker, mother, Margaret Jeffreys Parker, brothers, Alton Parker and Curtis Parker, and sisters, Norene Thornton, Christine Scoggins, and Sadie Parker.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today at Lawrence Funeral Home.
Mr. Parker was a member of Providence Baptist Church and a member of Glory Bound Bluegrass Gospel Group. He served with the Air Force during the Korean War, in France and Germany.
He retired from Reynolds Metal Company after 32 years as a cast house operator.
