Sylvia Richmond Hayes, age 78, of Lawrenceburg, TN passed away Saturday, August 01, 2015 at Southern TN Regional Health System in Lawrenceburg, TN. She was a native of Lawrence County, TN, and graduated from Peabody University with a Master’s Degree in music. She was also a charter member and choir director of Immanuel Baptist Church where she played the organ. Mrs. Hayes was the first band director of Loretto High School and retired from the school system after 49 years of service.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Blanche Richmond; one brother, Eddie Richmond (Becky); and one sister, Frances Freemon (Noble).

Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM Tuesday, August 04, 2015 at Neal Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 1:00 PM Tuesday, August 04, 2015. Interment will follow at Lawrence County Memorial Gardens in Lawrenceburg, TN. Family suggests memorials be made to Immanuel Baptist Church Building Fund
