Lesley Arnold – Obituary

Lesley Arnold was born in Watford England. She grew up and attended school in Southend-on-Sea, near London. She earned a degree from Homerton College, Cambridge, England and taught elementary school in Cambridge. She married Graham and emigrated to Los Angeles, CA in 1980. There she brought up two children, Edith and Frank, with love, pride and commitment. Mrs. Arnold was active in enrichment programs in art and science in the San Pedro, CA schools and was librarian, teacher and served for a time as Principal at St. Peter’s Episcopal Day School. Lesley loved art, the sea, and animals. Since moving to Huntsville in 2007 she expressed her love of animals, particularly lost ones, through volunteer work with the Greater Huntsville Humane Society Thrift Shop and A New Leash on Life.

Lesley is survived by her husband, Graham Arnold of Huntsville; daughter, Edith Arnold Sullivan (Alec) of San Francisco, CA; son, James Franklin Arnold (Michelle) of Houston, TX; mother, Joyce Bawn of Poringland, England; sister, Susan Utton (John) of Norwich, England; aunt, Dorothy Thomas of Framingham Earl, England; nephew, Christopher Utton, (Hyo Joo) of Ipswich, England; and niece, Caroline Utton Waran (Lucien) of Beckenham, England.

Visitation will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 28 at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 12200 Bailey Cove Road, Huntsville, AL 35803 with the service following at 2:00 pm.
