Martha Ann Gary was born in Hardin County, Tennessee on December 22, 1931 the daughter of the late William Morgan and Anna Belle Hopper Ruth.
Ms. Gary was a nurse for St. Francis Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee and retired in 1993. She began her nursing career at Hardin County General Hospital. Ms. Gary worked in Decatur County Hospital, Corinth Hospital, Baptist Hospital in Memphis and various nursing facilities. She was of Church of Christ belief.
Ms. Gary departed this life on February 5, 2015 in Memphis, Tennessee at the age of 83 years, 1 month and 14 days.
She is survived by her children, Sammy Gary and his wife June of Scotts Hill, Tennessee and Brenda Kay Gary of Memphis, Tennessee
two grandchildren, Cristal Nowlin and her husband John of Savannah, Tennessee and Stephanie Anderson and her husband Billy of Decherd, Tennessee.
four great grandchildren, John David Nowlin, Luke Nowlin, Katie Nowlin and Rebekah Anderson
two brothers, Larry Ruth and Marshall Swain Ruth, both of Memphis, Tennessee
one sister, Margie Craig of Scotts Hill, Tennessee
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by one son, Steven Gary, two brothers, Ward and Clyde Ruth and two sisters, Jane Brown and Johnnie Woodruff.
