Jerry Wayne Thompson, 69, died Monday, October 27, 2014, at Magnolia Regional Medical Center in Corinth. He was born August 14, 1945, to William Felix and Mazie Shaw Thompson. He was a member of Center Star Independent Methodist Church. He worked at Cooper Tire, Taylor Equipment, and North Mississippi Medical Center and was a mechanic for Hyster Lift Trucks, Inc. for most of his life. He was a former football official for the Mississippi High School Athletics Association and was an avid Mississippi State fan.

Services will be at 11 a. m. Thursday, October 30, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Mantachie with Bro. Buddy Rushing and Bro. Chad Roberts officiating. Burial will be in the Center Star Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Janice Thompson; four brothers, Lorne Thompson of the Carolina community, and Denis Guin (Dab), Tony Guin, and Tracy Guin (Jessica), all of Marietta; one brother, Terry Thompson (Jennie) of Wisconsin; two sisters, Ann Seals (Jackie) of Smithville and Geraldine Burleson (Joe) of Texas; a sister-in-law, Carol Thompson of Monroeville, AL; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Bill Thompson.

Pallbearers will be Herman Brewer, Jerry Hutcheson, Chip Guin, Jason Guin, Chad Allen Stephens, and Cole Stephens.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p. m. Wednesday, October 29, at the funeral home.
