One Arrested On Burglary Charges

COLBERT COUNTY-The Colbert County Sheriff’s Department has Charged one man with 2 counts of Burglary 3rd, and 1 count each of Theft of Property 2nd and Theft of Property 3rd.  Here is how Sheriff Ronnie May describes the events leading up to the arrest:

“Keith Kelsoe, age 44, of 208 Cobb Alley, Leoma, Tn has been charged with the following:     Bonds totaling $20,000
 
2 counts Burglary 3rd degree
1 count Theft of Property 2nd degree
1 count Theft of property 3rd degree
 
     On 10-2-14 a burglary report was filed by the daughter of victim located on Riverton Rose Trail.    Caller stated that a green Air Force jacket, a 12 piece silver place setting, and some costume jewelry had been taken from the home.  The screen was cut on a back window and entry was made there.  The burglary happened between 5:15p and  8:30p.  The value of the property taken was approximately $1020.  During the same time frame another burglary had happened on Riverton Rose Trail.  The victim from that burglary stated the they were coming home from work and saw a gold van parked on the side of the road.  There was a man carrying a plastic tub walking to the van.  The victim pulled over to talk with the man.  The man dropped the plastic tub, got into the van and drove away.  The victim looked in the plastic tub and found tools that belonged to him that had come from his shed.  The victim stated that he looked up and down Rose trail and found other items that belonged to him. The value of property taken was approximately $360. The victim also found items that belonged to someone else.  A short time later deputy Tyler Evans stopped a gold van driven by Keith Kelsoe on Rose Trail.  Kelsoe gave consent to search the van and stated that he was out looking for arrowheads.  a green Air Force jacket and jewelry were found in the van.  The items were identified as belonging to the first victim at 1801 Riverton Rose Trail. 
     On 10-6-14 after discussing the facts with the District Attorneys Office  warrants were issued for Kelsoe.”
